LICENSE REAL CITY VISUALS.

City Footage Licensing for Commercial Use

License authentic walking tour videos, urban timelapse and city photography for travel content, media and brand projects, with usage terms tailored to your needs.

FOOTAGE LICENSING

License city visuals with a defined purpose

Finding a beautiful clip is only half the job. Buyers also need to know what is supplied, how it may be used, and which permissions may still be required.

Purpose-led selection

Tell us the city, visual theme and distribution channels. We can discuss suitable available footage or a new shoot.

Commercial clarity

Agree on permitted use, duration, territory, edits and distribution before delivery.

Practical sourcing

Coordinate a licensing enquiry alongside original filming when an existing clip does not meet the brief.

CONTENT FORMATS

Walking footage, timelapse and photography

Choose the visual format that fits your edit and audience.

Walking tour video

Street-level routes, public spaces and everyday urban atmosphere for destination and travel storytelling.

Urban timelapse

Changing light, city movement, traffic and skyline transitions from suitable filming viewpoints.

City photography

Urban architecture, streetscapes, landmarks and city details for editorial or permitted commercial use.

LICENSE STRUCTURE

The right license depends on the use

There is no assumption that a single purchase grants every conceivable use. The agreed license should reflect your project.

Channels & purpose

Editorial, YouTube, social media, websites, documentary and advertising can involve different rights requirements.

Term & territory

Specify the period of use and countries or regions where the content will be distributed.

Exclusivity & reuse

Discuss whether a non-exclusive license is sufficient, or whether exclusivity, sublicensing or multi-project use is required.

All rights, prices and deliverables are subject to written confirmation. No blanket royalty-free, perpetual or exclusive license is implied by this page.

RIGHTS & CLEARANCES

Filming access is not the same as full rights clearance

Publicly visible subjects may still create legal and practical restrictions, particularly for advertising, endorsements or sensitive contexts.

Identifiable people

Depending on the location and intended use, recognisable individuals may require consent or a release. An editorial context is not automatically equivalent to advertising.

Buildings, art & brands

Private premises, artwork, distinctive installations and trademarks can raise separate questions from ownership of the recording itself.

Audio & third-party content

Background music, performances, signage, artwork and other embedded material may require additional permissions or editing.

Any clearance, release, blurring or restriction must be explicitly addressed in the project scope. We do not promise that every visible subject is cleared for every commercial use.

TECHNICAL DELIVERY

Agree on the actual files before licensing

A useful licensing enquiry includes technical requirements as well as rights.

Video specifications

Request target resolution, aspect ratio, frame rate, clip duration and preferred codec or container.

Photo specifications

State intended output size, orientation, file type and whether post-processing is needed.

Edit & handover

Clarify whether you need source material, selected clips, colour treatment, sound, captions or a finished edit.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Footage licensing FAQs

Answers to common questions from editors, travel publishers and commercial content buyers.

Is every clip available for immediate licensing?
No. Availability and the right to license each asset must be checked for the intended use.
Can I use licensed footage in YouTube videos?
Potentially. Specify the channel, monetisation and planned distribution so the written license can cover the intended use.
Can I use footage in paid advertising?
Advertising may require additional permissions, releases or content restrictions. Approval depends on the specific footage and campaign.
Do I own the copyright after purchase?
A license normally grants defined usage rights, not automatic copyright ownership. Any assignment must be separately agreed in writing.
Can I edit or crop the footage?
Permitted modifications should be stated in the license. Some uses or third-party restrictions may limit edits.
What if you do not have the location I need?
We can discuss a custom filming brief or potential partner production, subject to availability and quotation.
