CITY RHYTHMS. FRAME BY FRAME.

Urban Timelapse Videography Services

Professional city timelapse footage for travel media, brands and commercial productions—from skyline transitions and traffic trails to day-to-night urban sequences.

The service

Make a city’s movement visible.

A strong urban timelapse condenses hours of real activity into a few memorable seconds. Walkgraphy coordinates location-based timelapse filming for travel channels, destination storytelling, editorial teams, brands and commercial video buyers. We plan around the actual scene—not just a camera setting.

City movement

Traffic & pedestrians

Junctions, crossings, transport corridors and street activity captured from carefully chosen viewpoints.

Light & atmosphere

Golden hour to night

Skyline transitions, illuminated streets and changing weather when conditions allow.

Built environment

Urban transformation

Architecture, waterfronts and cityscape sequences for location-led visual narratives.

Where it works

Footage made for the edit, not just the showreel.

Commission a single establishing shot or a coordinated package across multiple locations. We align framing, duration and orientation with how your team intends to publish.

Travel & destination channels

Recognisable city transitions, landmark context, arrival sequences and atmospheric cutaways.

Brand & commercial campaigns

Purpose-shot urban scenes matched to a brief, subject to location access and agreed usage rights.

Documentary & editorial

Time-of-day context, public-space activity and visual transitions that support a factual story.

Digital media & presentations

Landscape or portrait assets for websites, social edits, presentations and digital displays.

Behind the camera

A technically considered timelapse.

The shooting interval determines how fast the world appears to move. A five-second sequence at 25 frames per second requires 125 usable frames; at a five-second interval, that is about 10 minutes 25 seconds between the first and last exposure. Actual capture time also depends on setup, exposure and interruptions.

01 / Viewpoint

Scout sightlines, camera stability, access restrictions, pedestrian movement and the direction of light.

02 / Capture plan

Choose interval, shutter behaviour, exposure strategy, frame count and the target playback rate for the scene.

03 / Finishing

Review frame continuity, reduce avoidable flicker, stabilise where appropriate, grade and export to the agreed specification.

Day-to-night transitions need special care. Exposure can change by many stops as daylight fades. A controlled exposure ramp and consistent post-processing can reduce abrupt brightness shifts; a perfectly seamless transition cannot be promised in every weather or access condition.

Output can be discussed in 4K or other required resolutions, common editorial frame rates, and 16:9, 9:16 or square crops. Final format, raw-frame availability, colour treatment, duration and licensing must be agreed in the quote; they are not automatic inclusions.

From brief to delivery

A practical commissioning workflow.

1. Share the brief

City, locations, references, use case, deadline and target formats.

2. Scope the shoot

Confirm shot feasibility, access, timing, weather allowances and usage requirements.

3. Capture & review

Film against the agreed plan and check sequence quality and usable coverage.

4. Deliver & license

Supply the agreed files and document the applicable usage terms.

Public-space filming does not automatically mean unrestricted commercial use. Recognisable people, private premises, trademarks, protected properties and location rules may affect how footage can be used. Discuss intended use before production.

Common questions

What buyers ask before commissioning.

How long does it take to film a timelapse?
It depends on the interval, target duration and scene. For example, 125 frames at five-second intervals span approximately 10 minutes 25 seconds from first to last exposure, excluding setup and retakes.
Can you film at sunrise, sunset or overnight?
These can be scoped, subject to access, crew scheduling, safety, weather and any permissions required for the viewpoint.
Can you deliver vertical timelapse for social platforms?
Yes, vertical framing or crop planning can be included in the brief. Some scenes require a dedicated vertical composition rather than a crop from landscape footage.
Do I receive raw image sequences?
Not by default. Raw frames, processed masters and alternate versions should be specified during quotation, together with file transfer and retention expectations.
Is commercial licensing included?
Usage rights depend on the contract, intended channels, territory, duration and whether exclusive rights are requested. We clarify the permitted use before delivery.
Can you guarantee a particular sky or traffic density?
No. Weather, traffic, lighting and public activity are variable. We can plan suitable windows and discuss contingency arrangements.
